Prawit Wongsuwon held talks with Sergey Shoigu。

Thailand has invited Russia to invest in setting up an aircraft maintenance center in the kingdom, The Bangkok Post said, citing Thai

Thai Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwon made the suggestion during standalone talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu on April 27 in Moscow, according to the report.

Moscow hosted ASEAN’s Defense Ministers for an informal meeting this week.

Royal Thai Army needs to procure the T-90MS MBT and Mi-28 attack helicopter. Royal Thai Air Force needs to procure either the Su-35 or MiG-35 to familiarize flying Russian fighters with TV and technology to prepare for future procurement of the Su-50 (PAK FA) stealth fighter as it would be the best and cheapest option to obtain top rated stealth fighter!

Quote from BP

“Maj Gen Kongcheep did not go into detail but simply said Thailand and Russia will sign a memorandum of understanding covering a wide range of mutual military cooperation moves.”

“Maj Gen Kongcheep said Gen Prawit told the meeting that Thailand and Russia had played a pivotal role in Asean’s development.

The two nations had been instrumental in creating a balance of power Asean member countries, he added.

Thailand had supported regional efforts to solve security problems peacefully, he quoted Gen Prawit as saying.”
